Two weeks in the Mother City
On the 4th of August 2016, I traveled to Cape Town and spent two magical weeks there! This was a very special trip for me because I paid for the air ticket myself and worked hard and saved up my own money to take with as spending money! And let me just say that all that saving was so so worth it, I made so many unforgettable memories with some very special friends.
I actually lived in Cape Town for 7 years before moving back to Durban where I was born. Since leaving , I had only been back once in the four years that I had been gone so I thought that it was time to see the beauty that is Cape Town again and to reunite with some extra special friends.
On my first day in Cape Town , Tamika ( my wonderful friend) and I went to Kalk Bay in the afternoon , we walked around Kalk Bay Quarter, did some window shopping and got Ice Creams from the Ice Cafe , and they were beyond delicious.
The next evening we went to the V&A Waterfront , which is so beautiful and had changed a lot since I was there last. I was beyond excited to see the H&M there... We also went on the Harrod's train with Tamika's little sister.
The next few days were pretty laid back , it was nice just spending time with Tamika and her wonderful family. Tamika and I went to Simon's Town and walked around there and also went to the Boulders beach viewpoint.
I spent the next few days with a special friend of our family. Ronelle and I went for a walk on the Seapoint promenade, we also went to the Urban Park and the Company Gardens. It was a wonderful few days ( dispite me getting a throat infection) with a lady who will always be close to my heart!
I spent the rest of my time in the Mother City with Tamika and her family. We went on a road trip to George and had so much fun , the laughs were endless and those memories will live in my heart forever.
On my last day , Tamika and I took a trip to Blueroot shopping , I did some last minute shopping and we had the most delicious milkshakes at Joe's Diner. As we were driving back to Fish Hoek (where Tamika stays) , I was taking in all the beautiful views one last time.
Spending these two weeks in Cape Town was the biggest gift. Spending such special moments with true friends was beyond amazing!!
Cape Town will always have a special place in my heart, I can't wait until my next trip!
