Magical Moments in Melaka

On the 30th of June 2017 we took the bus from Bandar Tasik Seletan station to Melaka's station. It was a pleasant and comfortable journey to Melaka and the bus tickets were so affordable, 15 Ringget each for a two hours trip.

From the station , we got a Grab ( South East Asia equivalent of Uber) to our hotel The Avillion Legacy. It is a stunning hotel and also pretty central to all the sites.

On our first evening in Melaka we saw the Christ Church and then walked to the Stadhuys and St Pauls Church and then to the A'Famosa Fort. There is so much history in Melaka and it makes you feel like you're in a time machine from a different time in history. For dinner we went to the Hardrock Cafe and the we took a walk along the famous 'Jonker Street' where there are stalls all along the street selling things from souveniers to candy floss to alice bands to shoes and so much more... There are also restaurants and pubs all along the street as well, but it only really comes alive at night , during the day it is a lot quieter in comparison.

On our next day in Melaka , we had breakfast at the hotel and then went to see the Cheng Hoon Teng temple. We walked along the streets and had a Starbucks to cool ourselves down ( Oh I forgot to mention how hot Melaka is , you're looking at 30'C and 80% humidity). We then made our way back to the hotel and rested a bit after all the walking.

We then decided to go for a late lunch at a place called the Baboon Cafe. If you ever find yourself in Melaka , this place is definitely one of the places you should go to! Firstly , no pictures are allowed because it is so top secret. Their food is on another level of deliciousness and you literally are sitting amongst the trees. We had pulled pork burgers and they were so tasty.

That evening we went on a river cruise along the Melaka river and then we walked along Jonker street again and had dinner and cocktails at the Geographer's Cafe which is such a unique place , they have live music and just such a good vibe.

On our last day in Melaka we had breakfast at the hotel and then went to see the Straits of Melaka. Once again the heat was so intense so we found a cute cafe to have something to drink.

Around midday we made our back to the bus station and waited for our bus back to Bandar Tasik. This was such a memorable trip and I'm so grateful that I could spend it with my two favorite people on the planet!
