Feeling happy in my favourite city

So I know it's been nearly a month since my last post but I've really been trying to be as present as possible and live in the moment!

About two weeks ago I left South Africa and travelled back to my favourite city, Kuala Lumpur. The past two weeks have been wonderful and seriously is there any better feeling than reuniting with your Mom after four months of being apart? The answer is no. My heart is exploding with happiness and I couldn't be more grateful.

Here's what I've been up to over the past two weeks:

23/24 November: I left Durban on the evening of the 23rd (literally bursting with excitement), I flew to Dubai for a little layover and then made my way to Kuala Lumpur. The second half of my journey was so great! Seriously who else secretly hopes that their entire row on the plane will be free?? Okay well I do and my entire row WAS free so slept basically the whole journey from Dubai to Kuala Lumpur. Arriving in KL was like coming home and reuniting in the same place that we said goodbye just makes everything better!

25th Novermber: On my first day back we went to Midvalley Megamall ( one of my personal favourite shopping centres). We got to see all the Christmas displays which were exquisite.

26th November: We took the train to Bukit Bintang and I saw the new train station which was awesome! It's so great to see how this city is constantly changing and expanding! We went to the Pavillion and saw yet another exquisite Christmas display. We had tea at a very unique restaurant called Wild Honey. After that we went Jalan Alor ( A must do when visiting KL) to get some delicious street food for dinner.

2nd December: We went to KLCC to Suria and saw even more beautiful Christmas displays and largest Christmas tree in Malaysia. Of course Starbucks was necessary...

5th December: I went to a Christmas lunch with fellow South Africans , it was wonderful to meet them and of course the food was delicious.

6th December: We took a trip to the Kanching waterfalls which is about 30 minutes outside of KL. The waterfalls themselves are stunning ( there are about 7) but I would advise keeping your food hidden as the monkey's can be quite aggressive, also there were fireworks going off when we were there ( they were unpleasantly loud ) and we were there on a week day.

7th December ( today ) : We took the train Masjied Jamek and spent the day walking around there. We first went to see the revamped mosque , so stunning! Then we went to the market just opposite the LRT station, so many cheap deals!!! We then went to Merdeka Square and went to the Expo Negaraku which was so informative and it's amazing how much attention to detail there was , the expo basically showed the future plans for Malaysia. After that we went to the Kuala Lumpur City Gallery and had lunch at the ARCH cafe, such a unique place! There is a lovely Gelato cart ouside the gallery - so delicious! Today was such a special day with plenty of walking but also plenty of laughs and memories made.

Two weeks filled with so much fun and special memories were made , I can't wait to see what the next two weeks hold...
